WRITING GROUP
Every Tuesday in Speilsalen at 19 PM in Det Akademiske Kvarter
My name is Joey Thrulsen Vedå; I am studying literature and have previously studied creative writing. My great passion lies in the art of storytelling and in beautiful, poetic language. Yet beauty does not exist in a vacuum, nor does it thrive in restrictive cages. My goal is to create a framework for the writing group that is flexible yet secure, ensuring there is room for both long and short texts across all manner of genres and languages.
Many people have ideas and literary projects but lack a community with whom to share them. If you are lucky, you might have a friend or family member willing to listen to or read your work; otherwise, you might wait for the encouragement and recognition that come only after becoming a published author. Creative writing programs, however, operate on a workshop model, fostering a culture of feedback and mutual support. This is the philosophy behind the Immaturus Writing Group as well; we are an open group for students and non-students alike who happen to be in Bergen on a Tuesday afternoon.
We welcome aspiring writers, language enthusiasts, songwriters, and storytellers. Prior experience doesn't matter—you share only what you feel comfortable with, and together we cultivate a "community garden" of creative souls, planting ideas and letting them grow. In our little garden, we listen to one another and to the world, exchanging words of encouragement, support, and insight to build an inclusive, creative writing community.
